![]() The evidence is all around as the energy transition is: The cost of going solar and generating power from the sun is quickly falling and in many areas that Lumio sells in, is cheaper than gas, oil, or coal provided by local power companies. ![]() “From a nation that burned coal, oil, and gas for more than a century to become the richest economy on the planet, as well as historically the most polluting, is rapidly shifting away from fossil fuels.” Cities across the country including Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Houston, and Los Angeles are transitioning to cleaner energy in a variety of forms including delivery vans, buses, cranes, and municipal buildings powered by the clean energy of the sun. The New York Times recently released an article titled “The Clean Energy Future is Arriving Faster Than You Think.” Across the country, many citizens don’t notice that a profound shift is taking place and is nearly invisible. Solar panels, electric cars, and intentional shopping / recycling are some changes we’ve implemented to do our part for Mother Nature, and to be able to enjoy the benefits of Great Salt Lake for years to come. ![]() Sustainability has always been a driving force in my family. ![]() This is to help protect Utah’s famous salty lake as well as flood mitigation. Due to the snow pack and an innovative approach, 50 million gallons of water is being directed to the lake each day for the next few weeks. ![]() Thankfully our winter has caused the Salt Flats to flood and the Great Salt Lake to rise for the first time in decades. Experts have warned that decreasing water levels at the Great Salt Lake will have large negative impacts on the local ecosystem. This winter Utah had record breaking levels of over 900 inches of snow and the Great Salt Lake is seeing a miraculous shift! As someone who was born and raised in Utah, I’ve seen the implications of pollution and global warming through the seasonal inversions, decreasing water levels of the Great Salt Lake, and shorter, warmer winters. ![]()
